Skylar got RSV recently. I was out with her almost the entire week last week, and luckily her daddy is home with her this week. I am so behind on work it is insane. It sucks. Seriously. Baby had to come first though. She was VERY sick. She was close to having to go to the hospital. Her fever was very high and she was wheezing like I've never heard before. Luckily the breathing treatments have been effective. Slowly. It is a respiratory infection that is very dangerous for little ones. Mostly the one year old and under set. The doctor said that since Skylar is still very small, it is dangerous for her. We have kept her away from all children, as that is how it is spread. Poor little darlin' has been a trouper. So has her brother. I was crazy about keeping them away from one another. I Lysol the house several times a day (that make Jesse sneeze like crazy, its pretty funny).
I now have a cold. It was bad for the first 4 days, Friday thru Monday. I am doing better now, but still have a pretty good cold going on. I really don't like colds. Of course, who does!?
Tomorrow my family arrives and I am not in any way ready. Our house needs a serious clean top to bottom. Chris is fabulous at doing a lot of the housework, but obviously I need to get home today to help out. I have a full day at work, so that'll be great. On top of it. I miss my Skylar time like crazy. It was wonderful to get that time with her. I'll get home and we'll clean clean clean. The fam gets here at 1030am. Can't wait. My mom, dad and gram will be here through the 29th I think. My brother and his family will be in northern Texas with my sister in laws family until the 26 or 27 then they come here!!! It will be TONS of fun to all be together down here.
Today is busy for me. Gotta finish up some stuff in the lab. I posted a photo of Mark Geyer above, he is the head of the Orion Program for NASA. I was sitting right behind the guy taking this photo, working away. He was doing a promotional spot of some kind in front of this mock-up of Orion (this mock-up is used for Human Factors testing by the way, the real Orion Test Article is in Denver undergoing testing). There were not many of us in the lab that day, it was an 'off Friday'. Many people work 9, 9 hour days, then get the 10th off! Great huh? I rarely take it as my schedule never really works out that nicely. I usually have a super busy few weeks, or not busy enough! Sometimes I get to take part of it. I actually like working those days, it seems like I get more done. My job is mostly Systems Engineering integration, so that means interacting with a TON of people, so getting pulled in several directions at once. I am a good multi-tasker.
I hope to show my dad the lab tomorrow, this is a big deal. Not many get to see this hot bed of activity for the space program. Its a small nit group.
